{Summer Guest Post} Le Frufrù

Hello! I am Chiara from Le Frufrù blog and I'm honored and happy that Federica asked me to guest post for her blog.
I thought to send her some photos of a shooting that has impressed me and which contains many vintage details that I think this young bride will like.

Ho pensato di  inviarle le foto di uno shooting che mi ha molto colpita e che contiene molti dettagli vintage che penso potrebbero piacere a questa giovane futura sposa.

I really like the idea of chandeliers hanging from the trees, and those little specks incorporated into floral arrangements.
 ~
Mi piace moltissimo l'idea dei lampadari appesi agli alberi, di quelle piccole bacche rosse inserite nelle composizioni floreali.

 I love the shabby look of the tin used like a glass. The choice of dishes and glasses is perfect and very sweet.

Adoro l'aria shabby del barattolo usato come fosse un bicchiere. Anche la scelta di piatti e bicchieri è perfetta e dolcissima.

 I think that the candy buffet arranged on a naked table with little glass cake stands and the little flags is gorgeous.

 E trovo splendido il candy buffet imbandito su un nudo tavolo con le piccole alzatine in vetro trasparente e le bandierine.

La volta scorsa ero talmente tanto emozionata di scrivere sul blog di Federica che mi sono dimenticata di presentarmi...ma rimedierò subito!

Mi chiamo Sarah e ho 30 anni. Quest'anno il mio oroscopo diceva che era l'anno del toro (il mio segno) e che mi dovevo aspettare tante belle sorprese. Non credo molto agli oroscopi ma effettivamente quest'anno è uno degli anni più belli della mia vita.

My name is Sarah and I'm 30 years old. This year my horoscope said that it was the year of the taurus (my sign) and I had to wait many beautiful surprises. I don't believe very much in horoscopes, but this year is actually one of the best year of my life.

La mia casetta è in fase di ristrutturazione ed il mio compagno ed io stiamo lavorando a quello che sarà il nostro sogno. Purtroppo non ho molte foto da mostrarvi perchè i lavori sono ancora un pò indietro ma nella mia mente so già quale sarà il risultato finale.

My house is under renovation, me and my fiancè are working together for our dream. Unfortunately I don't have much photos to show you because works are still not totally done, but in my mind I already know the final result.

{The Wedding Chicks}

Vorremmo una festa con tanti amici e circondarci dalle persone a cui vogliamo più bene. Eravamo incerti sulla location adatta. Cercavamo qualcosa di particolare ma allo stesso tempo semplice e accogliente. Inizialmente ci sarebbe piaciuto festeggiare in un bel campo con i tavoli ricoperti da lunghe tovaglie bianche e un sacco di fiori come sfondo, ma la ricerca di un campo in una zona come la Liguria sarebbe stata ardua. Alternative sembravano non essercene, soprattutto cercando di mantenere un certo livello di budget. Poi guardando le immagini del blog "Tren di nozze", mi è venuta un'illuminazione: la festa si sarebbe fatta in casa.

We would like a party with many friends and all the person more important in our life.
We were uncertain about the location. We were looking for something special but simple and cozy at the same time. 

Initially, we would like to celebrate in a beautiful area with long tables covered with white tablecloths and lots of flowers as a backdrop, but the search for a field in an area like Liguria was difficult. Seemed there weren't alternative, especially if you try to control the budget. Then, looking at some pictures found on "Tren di nozze", I found a brilliant idea: The party will be done at home.

 Quando la nostra casetta sarà terminata, ancora prima di arredarla si trasformerà in una location perfetta: romantica, semplice, originale...unica!

When our house will be finished, before we start to furnish it, it will be a perfect wedding venue:

romantic, simple, orginale...unique!

Al piano terra cui saranno alcuni tavoli dove sarà servito l'aperitivo, un comodo divano per stendersi, qualche poltrona e sarà allestito un palco per la band. Il piano di sopra invece, quello che sarà la zona notte, ospiterà tavoli e le sedie per la cena. Insieme a Gaia, la mia wedding planner, stiamo trovando un sacco di belle idee e molte decorazioni.

On the ground floor there will be some tables where you can enjoy your aperitif, a cozy sofa, some chairs and a little stage for the band. Upstairs, in the future sleeping area, there will be the all the tables and chairs for the dinner. With my wedding planner Gaia we are working on many beautiful ideas and decors.

Rimanendo sempre in tema di sogni (oh come mi piace sognare!), quest'anno si è avverato un altro sogno: sono riuscita a fare della mia passione, qualcosa di più che un semplice hobby. Io restauro mobili e complementi d'arredo in stile shabby...

Talking about dreams (I really love to dream!), this year another dream come true: my passion is become something more than a simple hobby. I renovate old furniture in a shabby style...

...e da qualche mese tengo dei corsi di tecnica shabby.

...since some months ago I also organize shabby courses.

I miei cassetti sono sempre pieni di desideri. Qualche volta se ne avvera uno, qualche volta non succede ma rimane una passione custodita nel cuore. Vorrei imparare a suonare il pianoforte, prendere lezioni di canto, fare un corso di acquerello e sogno un viaggio attorno al mondo. Come vedete, forse la cosa che sono più capace di fare...è proprio sognare!

My drawers are always full of desires. Sometimes they come true one, sometimes they don't but it remains a passion held in my heart. I would like to learn to play the piano, taking singing lessons, learn to paint watercolor and I dream a trip around the world. As you can  see, perhaps the thing that I do better ... is just dreaming!

I thought I would share a few pictures today with you of my living room and dining room.

I am like Federica and love decorating with whites.

Mi chiamo Maria e vivo in una in un ranch in California dove alleviamo cavalli.

Federica mi ha chiesto di essere sua ospite mentre le è lontana in vacanza. Grazie Federica per avermi chiesto di prepararti un guest post per il tuo bellissimo blog, sono onorata di essere qui oggi!

Ho pensato di condividere con tutte voi alcune foto del mio salotto e della sala da pranzo.

Sono come Federica, amo anche io decorare utilizzando il bianco.

 

My living room is made up of mostly white furnishings.

La mia sala è arredata soprattutto con mobili bianchi.

 

I add color to the room with sea colored bottles.

I love the way the light shines through them.

It reminds me of when we lived by the ocean.

~

Aggiungo colore alla stanza grazie a bottiglie colorate.

Mi piace come la luce risplende attraverso di esse.

Mi ricorda quando vivevo vicino all'oceano.

 

I added an antique mantle to the room to give the living room some character.

Ho aggiunto un tocco antico alla stanza per darle maggiore carattere.

 

I fell in love with european grain sacks about seven years ago, and

I have been collecting them ever since.

I use them for about everything.

They help add texture to the room.

Mi sono innamorata di questi vecchi ed europeri sacchi di grano sette anni fa, e da allora li colleziono.

Li uso praticamente per tutto.

Mi aiutano a dare consistenza alla stanza.

 

I love mirrors.

They are a great way to add light to a bare wall.

This particular mirror used to be an old door.

Sono un ottimo modo per donare più luce ad un muro scarno.

Questo specchio in particolare, era una vecchia porta.

 

Peonies are a favorite flower of mine.

I love adding color to my home with fresh flowers.

Le peonie sono i miei fiori preferiti.

Mi piace aggiungere colore alla mia casa con dei fiori freschi.

 

I love using antique linens to wrap around chairs that might need reupholstering.

It is an easy fix if you don't know how to reupholster furniture.

Amo usare vecchi lini per ricoprire delle vecchie sedie che dovrebbero essere ritappezzate. 

E' un modo semplice per risistemare vecchie sedie se non sapete come tappezzarle.

 

 

 

 My living room and dining room run together, I think the sectional helps divide up the two rooms.

Il mio salotto e la mia sala da pranzo sono insieme, anche se gli spazi sono comunque ben divisi dalla struttura stessa della casa.

 

My husband built our dining room table to resemble a farmhouse table.

Mio marito ha costruito il tavolo della nostra sala da pranzo in modo che assomigli ad un tavolo dallo stile country.

 This blue cupboard helps add a lot of color to both rooms.

Questo armadio blu aggiunge moltissimo colore ad entrambe le stanze.

 

This is where I store all of my ironstone pitchers and my collection of grain sacks.

Qui è dove sistemo tutte le mie brocche e la mia collezioni di sacchi di grano.

{Summer Guest Post} Tren di Nozze

Ciao a tutti!

Che onore trovarmi qui sulle pagine di Sweet as a candy!

Hi everybody!
What an honor for me to be on Sweet as a candy today!

Federica vi ha già più volte parlato di me (come sempre troppo bene!), sono Laura di Trendinozze. Come già sapete ho la sfacciata fortuna di aiutare Federica a organizzare il suo matrimonio: io ne sono onoratissima! In poco tempo non ho trovato solo la sposa perfetta per ogni wedding planner, ho scoperto anche una ragazza piena di talento e un'ottima amica!
Ma non è del matrimonio di Federica che vi voglio parlare oggi. Oggi vorrei fantasticare insieme a voi su un meraviglioso bridal shower per la nostra futura sposa. Certo, le amiche di Federica hanno tanto talento che quando ci penseranno ne organizzeranno uno che può essere solo più bello!

Una festa tra amiche è una buona occasione per osare qualche tocco divertente di colore nel decoro: fiori di campo e frutta sono perfetti per aggiungere un po’ di allegria: fragole, ciliegie, anguria, tutto ciò che è dolce e colorato fa al caso nostro.

Federica told you about me a couple of times (and she was way too kind!), I'm Laura of Trendinozze. As you probably already know, I have the luck to help Federica planning her wedding: I am so honored!  In a short time I've found every wedding planner's perfect bride, but also a girl full of talent and a very good friend!

But it's not to talk about Federica's wedding that i am here today. Today I would like to dream with you all about a beautiful bridal shower for our bride to be. For sure, Federica's friends are so talented that when they'll plan her real one it will come out more beautiful!

A party between girlfriends is a nice occasion to have some fun bold touch of color in the decor: Fresh season flowers and fruit are a perfect way to add some fun: strawberries, cherries, water melon, everything is sweet and colorful goes a long way!

Un bel giardino o un parco in un pomeriggio di primavera, una tavola coperta con una tovaglia delicata, e cestini di frutta e fiori e tanti dolcetti accompagnati da un tè aromatico servito nelle tazze della nonna. I segnaposto appoggiati a un'albicocca e tanti cestini di cliegie da portare a casa per le ospiti. Tante chiacchiere, tante risate e fotografie: ecco come mi immagino il bridal shower di Fede!

A beautiful garden or park in a spring afternoon, a table covered with a delicate tablecloth, baskets full of fruit and flowers and many sweets to be enjoyes with an aromatic tea in granma's cups. Seating cards would sit on sweet apricots and cherry baskets could be favors for guests to take home. Many chats, laughs and pictures: that is how I imagine Federica's bridal shower.
