My Christmas Decorations

It's unbelievable how time is passing so fast! Yesterday was summer, now is fall, and tomorrow will be Christmas! Less than a month! 

Well, I have to tell you a secret...Christmas is already arrived at my home! I'm not crazy butI love Christmas so much that I used to start decorating the house the second week of November. 

So, here a sneak peek into my home...

E' incredibile come il tempo passi veloce! Ieri era estate, oggi è autunno e domani sarà Natale! Meno di un mese!

Beh, devo svelarvi un segreto...a dire il vero, il Natale è già arrivato in casa mia!

No, non sono pazza, ma amo tanto il Natale ed ho l'abitudine di iniziare a decorare casa a partire dalla seconda metà di Novembre.

Ecco qui una sbirciatina alla mia casa...

I love the Christmas atmosphere, hot chocolates, homemade cookies, scent of cinnamon, candles, snow, dinners with my family....

I love Christmas but who doesn't...

Amo l'atmosfera del Natale, le cioccolate in tazza, i biscotti fatti in casa, il profumo di cannela, le candele, la neve, le cene con tutta la mia famiglia....

For my Christmas tree I preferred simple & classic decorations: white, red, and silver. I also used  pretty cookie cutters and gingham ribbon to decorate it. Very easy but pretty and smart decorations! What do you think?

I'm still at the beginning...I have to decorate the rest of my home!

Per il mio albero di Natale ho preferito utilizzare delle decorazioni semplici e classiche dai colori bianchi, rossi ed argento. Per decorarlo ho usato anche delle formine per biscotti e dei nastri a quadrettini bianchi e rossi.

Davvero delle decorazioni molto semplici ma eleganti al tempo stesso! Voi che dite?

Sono solo all'inizio...devo ancora decorare il resto della casa!

I really don't know how to start except say how truly blessed I am. Coming back home yesterday evening and felt happy like a baby. Not only did I had a marvellous wedding dress fitting, but Lelia Scarfiotti has posted our photos on her beautiful blog!

Non so proprio da dove cominciare se non dirvi quanto fortunata mi senta. Ieri sera quando sono tornata a casa ero felice come una bimba. Non solo ho avuto una meravigliosa prova abito da sposa in una boutique da sogno qui a Bologna, ma ho anche scoperto che Lelia Scarfiotti aveva appena pubblicato le nostre foto nel suo bellissimo blog!

 After weeks of rainy days, we finally had the luck to see the sun shining some weeks ago, so we had the chance to finally do our session with Lelia and take some pictures in Tuscany with a gorgeous cover of fallen leaves and autumn colours.

Dopo giorni e giorni di sola pioggia, finalmente qualche settimana fa abbiamo avuto la fortuna di rivedere il sole per un'intera giornata ed abbiamo colto al volo l'occasione per correre in Toscana e realizzare la nostra sessione fotografica insieme a Lelia. Come sfondo, un bosco incantato ricoperto di foglie cadute e le campagne della Toscana dipinte con i colori dell'autunno.

Magical and enchanted photos and atmospheres...I love how she captured and framed our love in these shoots.

Foto così mi lasciano letteralmente a bocca aperta...sono spazi così accoglienti e caldi...mi immagino in quelle stanze a rilassarmi sul divano o cucinare in quelle belle cucine!

To me, nothing says cleanliness and hospitality than a home dressed in white. It makes me feel  relaxed and refreshed!

Per me, nulla mi trasmette più senso di pulizia e di ospitalità di una casa dove predomina il colore bianco.

Mi fa sentire rilassata e riposata!

A make-up night with Tanisha

Gals, get together for a night and beautify yourselves is sooo much fun!

And if you are like me and you don't use makeup (I just use powder, blush, mascara...and eyeliner for special occasions!) it's very useful as well :)

I spent my Friday night at my home with my friends, Alessandra, Gaia and Tanisha, having fun together and learning from Tani how to make up ourselves. So funny!

I needed to learn everything...I mean, the ABC of the make up!

Ho trascorso il mio Venerdì sera a casa insieme alle mie amiche, Alessandra, Gaia e Tanisha, divertendoci un mondo e cercando di imparare da Tani come truccarci. E' stato davvero divertente!

We joked, laughed, ate pizza and drank beer listening to Madonna and other 80s music.

My name is Claudia,I'm 23 and I'm a student.When I'm not studying or hanging around with my golden retriever Dusk...I'm a jewellery maker,and my Etsy shop's name is Niandra.I started to make "serious" jewelry and accessories just a couple of years ago (previously I just used to have some fun with beads and nylon strings...like every little girl does!) when I discovered Etsy and got so much inspired by its creative atmosphere,and where I also could find most of my lovely supplies, which are completely impossible to find in Italy!

Ciao! Mi chiamo Claudia,ho 23 anni e quando non sto studiando o andando in giro col mio golden retriever Dusk...creo gioielli ed altri accessori,che vendo nel mio Etsy shop Niandra. Ho iniziato solo da un paio d'anni a creare "seriamente" gioielli ed accessori (naturalmente prima,come tutte le ragazzine mi divertivo con perline di plastica e fili di nylon..),quando ho scoperto Etsy,e che con la sua atmosfera creativa mi ha fornito grandissima ispirazione,e dove posso trovare la maggior parte dei materiali che uso per realizzare le  mie "cosine",e che è del tutto impossibile trovare in Italia!

What inspires you?

I get my inspiration from Etsy itself,with all the super creative crafters selling their items,or from lovely blogs like this one,which collect so many interesting,cute,and inspiring images! Inspiration can come from anything,like a book I'm reading,the atmosphere of a certain place,movies,or sometimes from the supplies themselves,since very (too) often I buy supplies first and then I decide what to do with them!

Mi sento molto ispirata dallo stesso Etsy,e da tutti i super creativi "crafters" che hanno lì i loro shops, o dai meravigliosi blog come questo,che raccolgono così tante immagini interessanti da cui prendere spunto!
L'"ispirazione" può venire da qualunque cosa,ad esempio un libro che sto leggendo,l'atmosfera di un certo luogo,un film,o qualche volta dagli stessi materiali che (troppo) spesso compro ancora prima di sapere cosa farne!

Any advice for friends who are wanting to start their own shop?

mmm..That's hard! I'm costantly learning myself,but I sure can say: take good photos,you don't have to just show a product,you have to create an atmosphere where your item "is living",and which has to accord well with the style of your item!
Selling on Etsy from Italy is not easy at all! most of the customers are not from Italy,or even form Europe,so it's hard to get them,and it's hard to find some kind of supplies here,and you have to order them from other countries from across the world,so they can take up to a month to arrive,and this means that you'll have to be super organized etc...
But any difficult point can be solved,and then it comes the funny part: knowing that someone from the other side of the world wants your items,pays for them,accepting to wait some time to get them,is incredibly satisfying! I almost was moved when one of my customers sent me a picture of her,in her weding day,wearing my earrings!

Hai dei consigli preziosi per chi come te vorrebbe aprire un proprio negozio?

mmm...non è per niente facile! Io stessa cerco costantemente di imparare nuove cose,ma di sicuro posso dire questo: cercate di fotografare al meglio i vostri prodotti! Non si tratta solo di mostrare un oggetto,ma è necessario creare un'atmosfera in cui l'oggetto "vive",e che si accordi con lo stile del prodotto.
Vendere tramite Etsy dall'Italia non è per niente facile,la maggior parte dei clienti non vive in Italia,e nemmeno in Europa,così è difficile raccogliere una clientela,ed è difficile reperire alcuni tipi di materiali,così bisogna ordinarli dall'altra parte del mondo ed aspettare anche un mese prima che arrivino, così bisogna sapersi ben organizzare ecc...
Ma ogni difficoltà può essere superata,ed allora comincia la parte divertente!
Sapere che qualcuno dall'altra parte del mondo vuole comprare un mio oggetto ed è anche disposto ad aspettare un po' di tempo per riceverlo,è un'incredibile soddisfazione!
Quasi mi sono commossa quando una delle mie clienti mi ha mandato una sua foto,nel giorno del suo matrimonio,in cui indossava degli orecchini fatti da me!

Ieri era una giornata grigia e cupa qui a Bologna, ma dopo aver visto questo delizioso e divertente photo shoot pubblicato su un fantastico sito americano, il sole è tornato a splendere! Sono davvero emozionatissima di potervi mostrare queste foto! Infatti c'è un piccolo particolare da sottolineare....
...Alcune settimane fa ho avuto l'enorme piacere di lavorare insieme ad un team di fantastiche donne per un'intensa giornata di shootings.

 The super-sweet Alessandra Aghilar of Almalu's place, styled and organized the entire shoot with simple and romantic objects. It was easy to shoot such a beautiful set!

La dolcissima Alessandra Aghilar di Almalu's place ha curato l'allestimento e lo styling dell'intero shooting, utilizzando semplici e romantici oggetti. E' stato semplice fotografare un così bel set!
Alessandra ha creato tre diversi sets per tre altrettanto diversi temi: Il Bridal shower, il matrimonio ed il Back to school.

She's amazing and she's already booked for May 14,2011. Hahahah :)
